Manga and illustration artist Arima Keitaro is an expert in doujin culture and now an adjunct lecturer of character design at the Department of Plastic Arts, Osaka University of Arts. His manga series Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase was adapted into an anime television series in 2004. He is also the designer of “Kawasaki Maruko,” the mascot of Kawasaki Frontale, one of the professional football teams in the Japan Professional Football League, for which he has created serialized manga strips as well.
